Is there an effort, by right-winged Conservatives, the "Christianize America"? As Christians, should we be using the "public square" to press forth our "religious agenda?" Or should we just let things go? Is it wrong for us as Christians to see our nation return to some of the more Biblical principles espoused by the colonialists and framers of the Constitution?
Consider this article http://www.adl.org/religious_
I, personally, do NOT believe that prayer, religion, or creation should be present in public schools. Not because of any religious entanglement or establishment clause problems, but rather, as a Christian parent, I do no want secular teachers instructing my children in these areas. Such a position also provokes me to question Christians who are advocating "God" in schools. If they "win" the fight, have they considered the consequences of public schools--secular and pluralistic institutions--teaching these subjects? Is our society, and education system, too far gone to reintroduce God back into the schools? Are private schools and homeschooling our only option as Christian parents?
Some important things to consider. And the journey continues...
